The ASJ Cubs had a fascinating tour of the Da'watul Islam Mosque this evening for their World Faith Badge.  A big thank you to Mubeen for his time and making it such an enjoyable trip!

Ten budding Cub sailors hit the water this evening at Fishmoor Reservoir in Blackburn and had a two-hour sailing taster session for their Stage One Sailing Badge.  The Cubs all said they had great fun on their catamaran-like "fun boats", which provided the stability for them to pick up some speed and gain confidence without capsizing.  Eden, our Young Leader, and Cub Scout Matilda went one step further and took out a Pico sailing dinghy, which was very impressive considering the wind speeds that evening!

A big thank-you to Ray, Tom, John and all the other Splashu volunteers for making this special experience for our Cubs!

This evening the Cubs had a fantastic time in the sun working towards their "Time on the Water" badge at Spade Mill Reservoir near Longridge.  Some of the Cubs achieved their Level Two badge, having kayaked last weekend on the Summer Camp at Waddecar and will be on track for their Level Three towards the end of the summer. We have more sailing and kayaking  sessions planned in June and July plus a joint Scouts/Cubs narrow boat camp weekend in October!

A big thank-you to Phil, Jonny, Paul and Bex at Splashu for such an enjoyable evening.

ASJ Scouts love a challenge and that's what they got, setting up camp in the relentless rain!  Thankfully it brightened up on Saturday evening and despite the weather our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts had a fantastic time playing, canoeing, shooting, making model boats and orienteering!
