The Cubs and Scouts had a fantastic time this evening canoeing, kayaking and Stand-up Paddle-boarding at The Anderton Centre. We're really lucky to have such a great water sports facility on our doorstep and the Cubs and Scouts are already looking forward to their next visit! Coming up in July and August are two Sailing taster evenings for the Cubs so watch this space for updates about our budding sailors #skillsforlife

Scouting is youth led and several times a year the Cubs have a "Pack Forum" to discuss camps and activities they would like to prioritise. This evening we took advantage of the sunny weather and had a pleasant walk from White Bear Marina to Frederick's Ice Cream Parlour. The Cubs enjoyed a cornet in the sun and came up with some fantastic ideas, including: Trampoline park Climbing wall / bouldering Go Ape Factory tour (industry / chocolate!) Segway riding A zoo trip Waterpark Football stadium tour Skiing - Chill Factore Bowling Cinema Treasure hunt Farm visit Dogs home - Dogs Trust Food tasting night Raft building Camping Indoor skydiving Speed boat ride Manchester Airport Science museum Seaside trip A trip to Heysham Power Station We'll certainly be able to incorporate some of these ideas into the programme next term so watch this space. Also, making her debut appearance this evening, was Pip the Pup who is joining ASJ Cubs as an Assistant Leader! Pip works at a secondary school as a therapy dog and is a hypoallergenic breed, so is perfectly suited to the being a member of a Cub Pack. Pip will attend on suitable evenings throughout the year. |
