ASJ Scout Group's first Racenight is a big success!

Saturday 28 November 2015 saw Anderton St. Joseph's Scout Group Exec Committee, Group Leaders, Scouts and Cubs hold the Group's first Racenight St Paul's Church Hall. There was a great turnout for what proved to be a fantastic family night out. Group Scout Leader, Phil Fairclough, was compère for the evening, featuring eight horse races, five greyhound races, a bargain £1 Bowen's pie and pea supper and a raffle. The evening raised an impressive £320 for the Scout Group.

The Scouts, Cubs and Beavers who attended also enjoyed themselves playing with their friends and the Scouts were in charge of taking bets from their parent punters!

A special thanks to Bowen's Pies for providing the delicious pies at cost price and our local Adlington Tesco Store for donating the mushy peas free of charge.

Don't rain on our parade!

Anderton Scouts were proud to lead this year's Remembrance Sunday parade from Adlington Community Centre to St. Paul's Church, where it was standing room only for the moving Remembrance Service. The parade then continued to the cenotaph for the laying of wreaths. All of the Scout Leaders were very proud of how smart and well behaved Anderton Scouts were who were thanked personally by the Mayor. Despite the forecast of heavy rain it remained dry right up until the very end of the parade.
