The Chorley LIFE Centre has been open for a year, yet ASJ Cubs were privileged to be the first Scout Group in Lancashire to visit this amazing facility! LIFE has been purpose built to inspire NHS careers and support health and well-being in people aged five years and upwards. The facility has been designed to include practical based teaching and also includes VR and AV technology. The trip included role plays for the Cubs on a Virtual Ward, working in a simulated Emergency Department and watching fascinating 3D movies in the cinema auditorium! We entered with Cubs who knew nothing about how the NHS works and we left with many aspiring doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiographers and NHS support staff! A big thank you to Sarah (an Advanced Nurse Practitioner from Chorley ED) and Brittany one of the Centre's Tutors for running the sessions.
