Joint Beaver and Scout Camp weekend - Saturday 4 - Sunday 5 June 2016 Ten Beaver Scouts and six Scouts had a fantastic weekend at Bibby's Farm Scouts Activity Centre, set-up for the older Scouts to help the younger Beavers with activities and teaching them camping skills that they've learnt over the years. Highlights were: climbing on the climbing wall, completing the Beaver Trail (in record-breaking time!), axe-throwing (for the scouts), playing rounders in the sun, playing on the activity park, cooking supper on the campfire and singing songs by the fire... that was just the first day. The following morning it was the Beavers' turn to lead the Scouts, using their picture maps for clues and directions on a hike in the best weather we've had all year. The Beavers didn't make one wrong turn, with the only problem being about thirty dozing cows blocking their route. Fortunately, Mark managed to herd the cows out the way without being squashed in the process. We all had a brilliant time and we're going to start planning the next camp soon. A big thanks to Phil for leading the camp, the scouts, their parents for helping to transport kit and to Vicky (Beaver Leader from Chorley Methodist Scout Group) and Dave (Group Scout Leader from Wakefield) who are now honorary members of Anderton St Joseph's Scout Group!
