There is a proposal to develop a new community facility at King George’s playing field Adlington. It will consist of new changing facilities for users of the football pitches, a community building with communal entry area and kitchens plus a large hall. Anderton Scout Group, Brownies and Adlington Ranger Guides along with Adlington Junior Football Club, as potential users, have been afforded the opportunity to make comment about the proposal. There is also a unique opportunity for the proposal to be a community led initiative, whereby you as the community are given the opportunity to comment on the need for such a facility and also positively affect the design and usage of the community building and its facilities The proposal is for the building to be utilised during week day evenings and weekends by the young people but the facility will be available for the community at large during the day time. It would be really appreciated if you were able to take a few minutes of your time to look at the following questions and give us your comments? In this way you can affect the community provision and use of this exciting opportunity.

Think it would be brilliant to help develop an area with so much potential for everyone to use.

Fairview is no longer used for young people and seems to be primarily a centre for providers to charge for sessions such as dance and martial arts, A majority of its use is for older people, the youth centre aspect of Fairview technically no longer applies. While this facility is good, I think one driven specifically toward providing for young people would be a massive asset.

This is a super idea. The existing changing rooms look a mess. What are the provisions for parking though?

My house is right in front of the existing changing rooms. Why is this the first I’m hearing about this? All the plans have been drawn up but no one has spoke to residents.

I think there needs to be some work done to park, possibility of extending park area to account for local residents however the community is in a dire need to be able to provide a quality facility for the community.

About time some money was spent outside of Chorley. New facilities for everyone would be great but massive consideration needs to be given regarding parking which is a pain at the moment for local residents.

I think its a great idea for families and youth events as there isn't anywhere as such for them to hand out safely. Parking would need to be looked at as its very limited up there.
